The Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center in downtown Chicago is seeking a full-time academic neurologist with specialty training in neuromuscular disorders to fill the position of Chief of the Section of Neuromuscular Diseases.
The Rush Neuromuscular Disease Clinic offers state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment of patients with disorders of nerve, muscle, and the neuromuscular junction in a modern clinical facility with excellent support services. Available resources include fully developed multidisciplinary clinics for patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and muscular dystrophy, with top notch ancillary providers and rehabilitation programs. Our expert team individualizes treatment plans, giving patients access to the latest therapies, including innovative medicines and clinical studies.
Qualified candidates will be Board Certified in Neurology with academic qualifications appropriate for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level. ABPN certification in neuromuscular disease with strong clinical skills, and an established record of academic accomplishment are required. Teaching clinical neurophysiology fellows, neurology residents and medical students and participating in house staff education is also an expectation. Interest in clinical, translational or basic science research and a successful track record of grant funding is a plus.
