The Visa Data Platform organization (DP) has the mission of "Turning big data into value for Visa and its Clients through partnership". DaaS team is responsible for the architecture, strategy, design and development of Visa's data and information products. DaaS team is building Next Generation Data processing platform with cost-effective and distributed applications on commodity hardware using best-in-class technology components. Building next generation of high perform data processing system requires collaboration with exceptional group of software engineers, DevOps engineers, payment experts and infrastructure architects. Design and implement Big Data analytic solutions on a Hadoopbased platform. Create custom analytic and data mining algorithms to help extract knowledge and meaning from vast stores of data. Refine a data processing pipeline focused on structured, unstructured and semi-structured data refinement. Support quick turnaround, rapid implementations and large scale analytic implementations.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Creating the vision and strategy and establishing an enterprise-wide IT plug-and-play environment.Leverage trends in technology and industry best practice and is responsive to the needs of DaaS organization. Work with Architects, Developers and PaaS team for the detailed design and development of Data Lake in Hadoop platform and build the framework to feed DB2 and any other target systems.
Have both an internal and external focus, serving as the point person for identifying research and technology trends that lead to improvements in the state of practice. Demonstrate technology thought leadership, develop productive business relationships, and build strong sponsorship of our technology architecture and roadmap; understand and influence business strategy, ensuring it is informed by current and emerging technology capability and supported by our architecture and roadmap.
Create framework ofarchitectures for DaaS domain, ensuring it is anchored in current/emerging business requirements, consistent with enterprise and sector architectural tenets, supported by clearly defined financial and non-financial rationale and actionable within the context of Visa's investment and risk appetite.
Provide leadership within global and regional architecture forums, ensuring the reference architecture and roadmap are informed by practical requirements and that design decisions remain consistent with the architecture and roadmap; ensure appropriate governance of exceptions and stringent follow-up to ensure all conditions of approval are met within the committed timeframe.
Ensure early engagement of partner organizations in the development and roadmap; ensure planned capability can be satisfied by partner organizations within the timeframe required. Champion a culture of innovation, commercial savvy, dependability, pragmatism and excellence. Reducing the intricacy and limiting the number of breakage points in the design.
Provide mentorship and help team growth especially on technical side.
BS/MS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field.
Experienced technology leader with a minimum of 10+ years of software development experience including 5+ years of application architecture experience with deep technology expertise in the following:- Extensive experience on architecture design of large scale platforms and application with simple solutions.
Practical experience in architecture management within a complex commercial environment, including setting architectural principles, establishing technology roadmaps aligned with business plans, development using Hadoop with large data volumes, and instituting governance to ensure alignment of investment to strategy/architecture.
Highly developed strategic, analytical, and communication skills evidenced by experience in formulating strategic scenarios, evaluating trade-offs within a robust commercial framework, developing complex financial models, and designing practical execution plans.
Extensive knowledge of and experience in current technologies including Big Data, Java, Spark. Openly manages conflict and disagreement through collaborative discussion to reach positive conclusions or decisions.
Be creative, energetic and passionate, motivated by the desire to achieve a premier standard of performance and exceptional customer experience.
Payment industry experience is a plus.
