The Child Care Aide I will engage and provide basic child care at the Center for Autism & Related Disorders (CARD). This staff member will greet, interact, and monitor children and parents/guardians at CARD and in the playroom.
ResponsibilitiesActively engage and interact with children using constructive activities.Monitor children and activities within the lobby area and the playroom area at all times.Greet families in the waiting area; assist/acquaint families with services available throughout CARD and the playroom.Monitor and maintain parent/guardian check-in system to ensure child safety/security.Responsible for organization of playroom and play therapy room to include set-up, clean-up/sterilizing, and the sorting of all toys and equipment.Assist with establishing and maintaining a system to update/rotate toys, activities, and supplies to ensure safety and level of interest for children at clinic.Prepare fundraising or promotional materials/items and assists with special projects to include theme/holiday decorating, contests, etc.Assist with organizing the marketing materials for Outreach and Training events.Assist with the purchasing of playroom supplies as funds allow.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Early Childhood certification preferred.
2 years experience working with children, some of which has been with children with development disabilities including autism is required.
