The Connecticut Humane Society's Fox Memorial Clinic is looking for a full-time clinical veterinarian to work with our dedicated team of professionals in providing excellent quality medical services in a nonprofit setting. We are looking for either a recent graduate or experienced veterinarian who wants to work for mission-driven clinic providing quality veterinary medicine for an under-served community on a salaried basis.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for practicing compassionate medicine and surgery as a vital member of a cohesive team of veterinarians and paraprofessionals managing the gamut of cases from routine preventive medicine to challenging outpatient medicine cases. This ideal professional will also be responsible for performing soft tissue surgeries including but not limited to tumor removal, cystotomy, cherry eye repair, amputations, routine dentistry, and spay/neuter.
Title: Clinic Veterinarian
Overview: This full-time position in our out-patient-only clinic offers defined work hours, an outstanding quality of life, excellent benefits, and pride of accomplishment for a veterinarian with at least three years working in a clinic setting and has a demonstrated record as a confident surgeon. A current license to practice veterinary medicine in Connecticut and ability to register with the DEA and Connecticut Controlled Substance Registry as a Practitioner is required. This candidate must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills. We are looking for a client-oriented individual who can work well with the public and the veterinary team providing excellent medicine in a fulfilling environment.

- Education: DVM. Current license to practice in the US, will help obtain state licensure if needed.
- Experience: 3-5 years working in a clinic or shelter setting or experienced clinician.
- Skills: Ability to perform soft tissue and spay/neuter surgery. Diagnose and prescribe treatments for diseases and medical conditions, ability to perform physically strenuous activities which will require lifting of moderate to heavy weights (up to 40 lbs.), standing and/or bending, walking and/or controlling dogs and/or cats, use of cleaning solutions, and sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
