Clinical Child Psychologist
The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences at Childrens Mercy Kansas City is recruiting a psychologist with expertise in the assessment and intervention of a wide range of presenting issues. The primary focus of the position will be clinical service delivery, including assessment and evidence-based intervention of developmental issues and both internalizing and externalizing disorders in children and adolescents. Referrals will come from the community, as well as from a variety of Childrens Mercy clinics/services. Common referral problems include Autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, depression, anxiety, disruptive behavior, attention issues and learning challenges. Additional responsibilities will include teaching/supervision in the hospitals APA accredited psychology internship, psychology and developmental-behavioral pediatrics fellowships, pediatric residency program and psychology practicums.
The position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, with rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates must have completed a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or a closely related field (e.g., child clinical psychology, school psychology,) completed an APA-accredited internship and a post-doctoral fellowship and be license-eligible as a psychologist in Missouri and Kansas. The successful candidate will have experience with formal psychological testing, diagnostic interviewing skills and behavioral/cognitive-behavioral intervention with children and adolescents. Candidates at all levels of experience will be considered.
