The Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU will report to the Nurse Director of Women’s and Children’s Services and collaborate with the NICU Nurse Manager to ensure the clinical competence of all NICU nursing staff. Ideal candidates for Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU have excellent communication skills and can facilitate strong relationships across all levels of nursing management.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU is a self-motivated role model and always looking for staff development opportunities. In order to ensure quality patient care, the Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU will oversee quality improvement, safety and regulatory requirements and evaluate all education and training programs.
This busy NICU has 50+ beds and is a regional referral center treating the sickest and smallest patients in the state. The ideal candidate for Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU should be clinically sound and be very comfortable caring for respiratory/vent and neuro babies.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU will also have the opportunity to conduct research and use their findings to develop new policies and procedures. The Clinical Nurse Specialist NICU will use evidence-based practices to develop new-hire orientation and continuing education programs.
