We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to: - Find a rewarding career working with children at the American Family Children’s Hospital. - Provide leadership for the advancement of professional nursing and transport team practice. - In collaboration with other members of the health care team, will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical programs designed to optimize outcomes of the defined patient population across the continuum of care. Education: Minimum - Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing Work Experience: Minimum - Three (3) years relevant clinical nursing experience in pediatric oncology nursing. Preferred - Prior experience in an academic medical center. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum - RN licensure in the state of Wisconsin. Preferred - Certification or eligible for certification in specialty area. CPHON or CPN certification. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: · Knowledge and experience in development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs. - Experience in clinical teaching within an education program or as a clinical preceptor/unit teacher. - Knowledge of computer-assisted instruction, basic skills in use of word processing, data bases and PC based presentation software helpful. Physical Requirements: Light: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involved sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met. Work Schedule: 100% FTE, 40 hours a week. Day shift, Monday through Friday. No weekends, holidays, or call. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
