The Director of NICU will work with the unit manager and lead the department with an interdisciplinary team of nursing staff, caregivers, transport, physicians and therapists. The NICU in this facility is a Level III unit that employees 200 caregivers and staff. It provides world class care to close to 2000 babies each year.
Responsibilities for this Clinical Nursing Director of the Neonatal Unit will include but are not limited to development and monitoring of quality assessment, direct development of marketing programs, compliance, continuing education programs, leading activities related to program planning, maintenance of fiscal responsibility, mentoring, overseeing the development of policies and procedures, promoting consumer relations, management of clinical functions and support the coordination of research activities within a patient care service. Qualifications required are knowledge of clinical theory or business management normally acquired through a Master’s Degree in Nursing, clinical field or management, seven years of progressive responsibility in a hospital setting, interpersonal skills, oral and written communication and appropriate licensesand certifications. The Neonatal Intensive Care Director will cultivate nurse leaders of tomorrow by strategic, forward thinking, leadership and implementation of process improvements.
