Job Title: Clinical RN Manager
Roles amp; Responsibilities:
The Clinical Manager is a RegisteredProfessional Nurse that plans, organizes and manages the Patient TransferCenter located in our corporate offices near Grand Central Station. Ensures thedepartment is managed in accordance with hospital goals and policies. Thedepartment coordinates and prioritizes emergent and non-emergent patienttransfers from other hospitals to the Mount Sinai Health System. This includespolicy and program development, program accreditation, financial issues, stafftraining, hiring/interviewing new staff, and managing patient transfers as wellas other clinical functions of the center.
Manages and evaluates staff performance of thePatient Transfer Center.
Consults and advises management on departmentalproblems affecting overall operations and appropriate corrective actions.
Works with staff to establish departmentalgoals, objectives, and plans consistent with overall goals and upholddepartmental policies and procedures.
Develops guidelines for prioritizing workactivities, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary.
Identifies, analyzes and resolves any dailydepartment issues in a timely manner.
Provides supervision or assistance ofactivities, including but not limited to, patient registration, bed placementrequests, insurance authorizations, and arranging ambulance transportation.
Communicates regularly with Bed Management andphysicians to determine availability of appropriate bed.
Perform follow up communication to insurancecompanies, physicians, case managers, social workers, nurses, staff, familymembers, and others regarding expediting of a patient transfer.
Oversees planning, implementation, anddevelopment program/initiatives for the Inter-hospital transfer department topromote exceptional customer service.
Assess, maintain, or implement customer serviceperformance improvement initiatives to tailor specific needs of physicians andother department users.
Interviews, hires, evaluate, counsels and whennecessary dismisses staff within department.
Responsible for scheduling of staff and developsteam to ensure continual even functioning of departments during absences.
Collects data, prepares reports, analyzesstatistics and budget reports, and answers correspondence as needed.
24/7 rotating shared on-call administrativeresponsibilities.
Performs other duties as assigned by DepartmentManager and Director.
NYS RN with BSN with atleast 3 years of acute care nursing and proven progressive leadershipresponsibilities.
