This director position is responsible for managing business operations and resources of a given practice that can be defined by industry, service line, technology center, specialty area or region. Responsible for managing the three main pillars of a practice: people management, portfolio/delivery management and sales enablement. Has profit and loss responsibility or financial/expense management of practice.
Accountable for operational/financial metrics and overall business results of practice. Responsible for maintaining strategic direction, ensuring profitable growth of the practice, quality of consulting delivery, and maintaining customer referenceability. Develops strategy and plans to successfully implement operational policies and achieve business objectives. Accountable for managing and growing a significant revenue stream and customer base. Typically manages multiple first line managers and/or senior level individual contributors. Resolves staffing issue in complex engagements. May serve as advisor or project sponsor role for moderately complex engagements.
10 years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience and 2 years of project management leadership experience. Direct line Management experience including project, people, customer, financial management preferred. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the practice focus. Ability to develop and maintain relationships at the executive level. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.

The Manufacturing Industry Director lead will support one of the only teams in Oracle responsible for evangelizing and delivering Oracle s entire application platform capabilities (ERP, HCM, CX, and OMC) within a targeted industry.
They are responsible for: supporting an overall strategy for growing our business in the Manufacturing industry across all pillars of our applications portfolio, by helping establishing a clear industry point of view that demonstrates our value proposition to clients in the industry, developing relevant assets and capabilities to differentiate our offerings in the marketplace, and working with and across our matrixed organization to evangelize, sell, and deliver in a compelling and differentiated manner. The Industry Director will share responsibility for the success and health of our overall portfolio of business in this industry, including driving new bookings, solidifying renewals & extensions through delighted customers, architecting world-class solutions, and ensuring they are implemented effectively and creating value for clients. This is a unique entrepreneurial opportunity to establish and grow a business as a leader in a significant transformation within Oracle Consulting, and will transform the nature of relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and clients.
They will bring extensive consulting, sales, and delivery experience in the SaaS application or large scale IT-enabled transformation space in Manufacturing industry along with a strong understanding of trends, common challenges, and culture within the industry, and a proven ability to define strategies and solutions that drive value in the industry, quantify the value of solving the business problem or opportunity, and execute effectively in order to deliver the defined benefits and value.
They will be responsible for partnering with our pillar-specific Growth and Strategy leadership, Customer Advocacy, Delivery leaders, as well as our SaaS Sales organization to accelerate the growth of the business, disrupt standard processes, and exceed client expectations.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
This role will support both growth and existing accounts and as a result, a key portion of the role will be focused on growing install base accounts, opening dormant accounts, and growing a "book of business" in order to develop a strong revenue pipeline for the business. There will also be a requirement to handle delivery escalations, as well as be chargeable as an advisor on strategic projects.
In this role, the successful candidate will develop and overall growth strategy for the Manufacturing/Utilities industry, generate demand for Oracle's service offering, develop opportunity execution plans, identify and manage key team members and resources from across our matrixed organization to properly scope the project(s) to meet client needs and Oracle business parameters, and manage the customer relationship(s) from initial discussions through successful delivery.
Additional responsibilities will include forecasting contract bookings, accurate and timely reporting in CRM & other appropriate systems, and managing accounts receivables for the account portfolio.
This is a senior level, pursuit role and requires a seasoned professional with varied career experiences including a combination of at least 10-12 years of experience working in the Manufacturing industry, providing technology enabled transformation or SaaS applications implementation consulting services, and sales experience within a consulting organization with a strong track record of new account development, selling consulting services, and managing a portfolio of accounts and engagements.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
BA/BS; MS comparable is strongly preferred
Big 4 (or equivalent consulting firm) experience strongly preferred
Must be a driven consulting professional and have strong capabilities in:
Account Planning and achieving sales targets
Problem Solving and Negotiating
Project delivery in consulting environment (e.g. demonstrated work managed metrics)
Ability to travel 50-75% of time, depending on assigned accounts
Oracle Cloud or competitive cloud experience
