All Services, All Payers
- Is responsible for coding all services and all payer inpatient and outpatient accounts.
Minimum Experience, Education and Training
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience with ICD-9 and CPT coding in an acute care or outpatient setting required.
Basic computer experience required.
Use of an encoder software product for code assignment required.
Successful completion of college level courses in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and
coding ICD 9 and CPT, required.
Successful completion of or current enrollment in a program for certification as a Certified Coding
Sufficient knowledge of clinical terms, disease processes, procedural processes, and documentation
practices to enable accurate capture of all code-able and abstract-able data.
Sufficient knowledge of coding practices and guidelines to enable appropriate ICD-9 and CPT code
selection and assignment for outpatient and emergency department coding.
