Role: Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Commercial Loan Servicing function in connection with Commercial Lending. Responsible for customer complaints and research, payment processing, demands and payoffs, adjustable rate management, escrow processing including delinquent taxes and force placement of insurance, preparation of payoff demand statements, maintenance, tracking and review of all pending loan documents and exceptions. Responsibilities also include the management of loans purchased, payment receipt and reconciliation of all Loans Serviced by others with oversight to all applicable regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
20% Responsible for the Direct management of staff including all related Human Resources activity including but not limited to; coaching, training, hiring, performance requirements, goals, scorecards and metrics.
20% Manage commercial loan administration and closings for commercial loans to insure terms and conditions contained in loan documents comply with approvals and commitment letter, and Maintain, manage and track all pending/outstanding loan documents and exceptions.
15% Evaluate business processes and implement necessary changes and adherence to MBL policy, state laws local laws, federal laws, credit union policies and according to established procedures.
15% Manage secondary market servicing functions, including but not limited to; rate changes, payments processing, member inquires, problem-solving, quality control, and reporting.
15% Function as a Project Manager for Lending Department projects and inter-department projects led by the Lending Group. Participate on other project teams, where assigned by the Vice President of Consumer Loan Servicing and Collections, as a representative of and liaison to the Lending Group.
10% Support staff through ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
5% Perform the Compliance Self-Assessment for areas of responsibility and perform periodic review of 3rd party vendor processing and audit of their process.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
Education: Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).
Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills: Must have good listening and communications skills; able to operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard; able to make decisions with minimum information.
