The Who, What, Where and Why
Twilio is seeking a Community Developer to help us cultivate a global and diverse community of Twilio Developers. You'll organize in-person events where our developer community can gather such as dinners, meetups, conferences and hackathons. You'll play the role of event planner and host -- picking a venue and inviting the right folks, and making them feel like honored guests when they arrive.
For many developers, you will be "the face" of Twilio -- the person they ping when they need help. They will feel like VIPs because they know you. And when someone who works at Twilio needs to talk to the community, they'll come to you. You will be the conduit through which developers build better relationships with Twilio, and through which Twilio builds better relationships with developers.
Twilio is looking for a developer who has demonstrated a track record of serving developers and cultivating community. Requirements for this job include:
- You are a developer. You have experience solving problems with code, and have shipped code to production.
- Experience organizing developer events such as meetups, hackathons, conferences, etc.
- Experience serving underrepresented communities.
- Experience with public speaking.
- Strong writing skills
As Community Developer, you will:
- Organize events for our developer community
- Write code that uses Twilio APIs, and help others do the same
- Speak at meetups and events
- Travel up to 30% of the time
The Developer Community's mission is to encourage and amplify developer building the future of communications. To date, over five million people have signed up for Twilio developer accounts.
