Computer Scientist II - AI Planning & Scheduling
The Artificial Intelligence Center of SRI International is looking to fill a research position in the area of AI planning and scheduling. SRI has a long history of innovative work in this area, commencing with the development of the first mobile robot (Shakey) back in the 1960s through more recent work on mixed-initiative planning and scheduling systems, distributed AI for controlling large-scale robot teams, dynamic resource allocation, and intelligent workflow systems.
This position will focus on the development of innovative capabilities that combine planning and scheduling to develop both automated and mixed-initiative approaches to address challenging real-world problems across a range of application domains. Responsibilities will include contributing to existing research projects through concept design, algorithm development, implementation, and evaluation; publishing research results and engaging with the broader research community; and working within small teams to formulate new research directions and to develop new projects in planning and scheduling.
The ideal candidate will have technical depth in the following areas:

PhD in Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence/Operations Research or a related field; alternatively, a Masters degree with at least three years of experience in automated planning/scheduling R&D
A track record of technical excellence in basic and applied research
