Golder has a new opportunity for a Construction Technician IIl to join our Construction team in Parish, Alabama. This role will provide technical field assistance in the employee’s related discipline, including operating and maintaining equipment, testing, sample collection, tabulating, data gathering, monitoring, and surveying, in order to support the successful completion of a project or task. Key responsibilities will include : -
Coordinating site activities. -
Problem solving site issues. -
Ensuring quality and accuracy of work performed/deliverable. -
Collaborating with more senior Technicians and with Project Managers/Directors to review and discuss field conditions and provide context and explanation. -
Ensure the proper functioning of equipment both mechanically and at the project performance expectation. -
Ensure operation and maintenance of equipment according to maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures. -
Participate in the installation and manufacture of treatment equipment. -
Collaborate on environmental monitoring and tributary and effluent sampling. -
Support with various manual work (plumbing, electro-mechanical, mechanical, etc.). -
Support installation of well closures. -
Support operation of cone/drill rig. -
Collection and handling samples, and/or completing required testing. -
Compilation and maintenance of detailed field notes and reports. -
Completion of required work tasks, while adhering to current industry standards and regulatory requirements. -
Preparation and use of the appropriate equipment and apparatus for the required tasks for the manner intended. -
Application and interpretation of results is required to ensure the quality and accuracy of the end product. -
Undertake site reconnaissance, inspections, and observations. -
Accurately record relevant data through the appropriate means, medium and/or equipment. -
Review field notes and data as collected by junior team members for detail, accuracy, and completion. -
Prepare and coordinate/assist project documentation, which could include tabulation of field data, or interpreting and preparing relevant portions of letters and reports. -
File and manage all project related field notes including data entry reviewing for quality assurance and accuracy. -
Develop Field programs with the Project Manager and/or senior technicians. -
Provide input into proposals. -
Manage low to medium complexity field programs. -
Train and mentor junior employees in the field and in best field practices. -
Coordinate project field teams. -
Supervise and provide ongoing observation of Golder qualified subcontractors to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the contract safely and professionally. -
Adhering to our corporate HSSE policies and procedures as outlined in the Global HSSE Manual. -
Participating in the preparation of HSSE plans, adhering to site-specific health and safety plans and conducting field level hazard assessments to mitigate or eliminate risks to Golder staff, Golder’s clients, employees, and the public. -
Identifying and reporting potential and existing site hazards, incidents, potential Fatal Risk Controls (FRC), and potential Serious Injury or Fatality (pSIF). -
