Pay rate: $15.25 per hour
Job Description:
Apollo After School is providing student supervision, teaching assistance, and enrichment activities for Chicago Public School’s Child Learning Hubs. CPS has moved to a Remote Learning school day in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Child Learning Hubs are central locations provided by CPS for students who are unable to participate in their remote learning school day from their homes and need to continue attending school at a physical location. Our job is to ensure that each student is safe, supervised, and fully participates in their e-learning school day while providing enrichment and activity options during their scheduled break times.
Job Responsibilities
- Work together with colleagues to ensure each child fully participates in their online school day
- Ensure the safety and security of children enrolled
- Maintain vital communication with the school’s administration, students’ teachers, and custodial staff
- Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders (students, parents, colleagues, school staff, and administration) to facilitate an overall positive learning environment
- Encourage and enforce CDC recommendations, and CPS and Apollo policy, for COVID-19 prevention and safety
- Ensure that the program operates in compliance with all IL Office of Licensing, DCFS, CDC, and Apollo safety requirements
- Maintain any required documentation, such as incident and accident reports, and ensure required documentation is completed correctly
- Review lesson plans weekly
- Ensure program content supports school-mandated goals and outcomes
- Provide a high-quality learning environment and manage activities that extend the school day
- Effectively assist students through your enthusiasm, teaching skill, and patience
- Communicate and collaborate with students' families to share individual strengths, successes, and challenges
- Follow the designated schedule and curriculum, maintain a routine for students

Requirements:
- - Minimum of two years working with school-age youth, ages 4-12 in a school/after-school setting
- - First Aid/CPR certified
- - All site-based staff must complete CPS-mandated fingerprinting and background checks
Compensation: $15.25 per hour
