The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated professional to join its Cyber Security team. The successful candidate will work in a technically diverse and dynamic environment with a team of Cybersecurity professionals to ensure an appropriate risk management approach to IT system security. The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of supporting and managing the cyber security program.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Support development of cyber security policy to establish guidelines and requirements
Consult with information system owners to identify and plan security impacting changes
Provide risk analysis for proposed changes to information systems
Perform security control assessments to verify correct implementation and identify weaknesses
Represent cyber security on cross-functional IT project teams
Perform incident response team actions as assigned
Author or review and edit technical correspondence
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years relevant experience; or
- Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience; or
- Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years relevant experience
Job Preferred Skills
Professional security certification such as: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information System Security Manager (CISSM), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Authorization Professional (CAP), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) certification.
Experience with information systems security analysis, control implementation or risk analysis.
Information System Security Manager (ISSM) or Information System Security Officer (ISSO) experience.
Experience applying Federal Government security regulations and standards such as FISMA, FIPS and NIST.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
A detail oriented self-starter who identifies opportunities for improvement and implements positive change.
Experience securing Oracle.
Experience securing Linux operating systems.
Experience with vulnerability management.
Prior experience with risk analysis relative to information systems with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience with security related technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems and security assessment applications.
Prior experience working in a collaborative environment.
Minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative grade point average.
Master of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
