Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Department of Psychiatry, in a unique collaboration with the State of New Hampshire, seeks an Internal or Family Medicine Physician to provide Primary Care services at New Hampshire Hospital, our affiliated state psychiatric facility, located in Concord, NH.
In this role, you will work with various clinical teams on the primary care of people who are hospitalized for psychiatric difficulties. In addition, there are opportunities to become involved in research, including services research focused on development of innovative models for delivery of care to people with psychiatric disorders.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled clinician, and enthusiastic teacher with strong interest and experience in providing outstanding care to people who have developed psychiatric disorders. Candidates should be board certified (or eligible) in Internal or Family Medicine. Academic rank at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and salary will be commensurate with experience.

New Hampshire Hospital has a long tradition of providing excellent care to people who develop mental illnesses. We provide acute, inpatient psychiatric services for adults and the elderly who need active treatment and other essential supports within a continuum of community-based care. Specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services are provided for 2000 patients each year, keeping our 168 beds full. Half of hospital patients are discharged within ten days. Approximately 600 staff includes board certified psychiatrists, general medical services, specialized nursing, allied clinical, administrative and support personnel.
