Position: Data Integrity Auditor
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Duration: 3 month (possibility of extension)
Start Date: July 15th, 2019
The Data Integrity Auditor maintains the integrity of the Master Patient Index (MPI) via medical record number corrections, deletions, updates, merges and additions; reviews all registration input and makes corrections and notifies proper departments as needed. Utilizes many sources to retrieve information needed to analyze patient information found on medical records and MPI; makes corrections in all systems used by our client, if applicable. Follows the hospital policy on destruction of the medical record.
· High School Diploma or GED. RHIT/RHIA preferred
· 2 years of general office experience, including 1 year of experience in medical record department.
Merges duplicate medical record number (MRNs) in EPIC and combines the actual record in paper form and/or electronic form through verification of identification, diagnosis, demographics, signatures or any identifying information available in the patient's chart. Assures correct information is maintained in EPIC and any applicable downstream systems by notifying all required departments of merges and corrections for correction in other department systems. Enters baby names from birth certificate upon discharge of baby. Investigates, prints obituaries for and marks patients deceased form report of patients marked with an FYI flag deceased. Updates the PACs, radiology system with patient merges. Reviews all patient overlays from the patient overlay report. Maintains the philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the department and the hospital.
