POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in patient treatment with Dentist and assists the Dental Department with patient flow, sterilization and asepsis of equipment, dental outside lab procedures; maintains appropriate inventory levels and performs dental x-rays. Educated and expected to competently care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient (age 3 - 100 +). Must be certified to take radiographs /graduate of an approved dental assistant program.

EDUCATION:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required. Graduate of a certified dental assistant program ( or equivalent, such as 1 year experience in a dental office doing chair side or completion of Armed Forces training) is also required.
- Must be certified in radiographs /or graduate of a certified dental program in order to perform x-rays.
- Knowledge of oral hygiene and dental assistance functions.
- Excellent manual dexterity, and ability to perform detailed and accurate work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that demonstrate concern and caring attitude towards patients, family members and staff.
- Basic computer proficiency inclusive of ability to enter and access data/information.
