About the Job:
Applies basic technical skills and knowledge of operational processes to perform straightforward and routine activities

Some Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Provide personal dental assistance to a dentist or other dental clinician
- Set up and tear down dental operatories between patients
- Expose/process dental radiographs
- Provide physical restraint during episodes of combative patient behavior
- Assemble dirty instruments, decontaminate and make ready for retrieval and reprocessing by Central Supply
- Maintain functional readiness of dental equipment
- Promote timely progression of care through effective team communication
Preferred: Completion of an accredited dental assisting school
Preferred: At least 2 years previous experience as a Pediatric Dentistry Dental Assistant
High school diploma or equivalent, required.
Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Dental Assistant with the State of Texas (within 60 days of employment), required
Successful completion of dental radiology course and nitrous oxide monitoring course, within 12 months of hire, required
Basic Life Support certification, required
