The Outpatient Float Pool is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to help meet the Dental Clinic's supplemental staffing needs. The successful candidate must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task. This individual will assist with preparing patients for dental treatment and procedures, including taking x-rays, and sterilizing instruments. Prior experience working with patients, who have medical as well as dental needs a plus.
Coverage needs include daytime shifts (Monday through Friday) 8 am to 5 pm as well as night-time and weekend coverage. Applicants should be prepared to provide what shifts (days of week) they would be available to cover and what off hours they would be prepared to cover.
Graduation from an accredited two-year (minimum) Dental Hygiene program OR Successful completion of a CODA-accredited dental assisting program OR meet the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners requirements for a Dental Assistant II (http://ncdentalboard.org) OR Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification.
Three (3) years of clinical experience as a dental assistant. North Carolina Dental Assistance X-Ray certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
