Dental Assistant - Ft. Lewis Work Location: Tacoma, WA Job Summary/Description The Dental Assistant shall perform essentially the same duties as those required of any military or government civil service dental assistant or similar experience and in similar duty assignments. Services will be confined to chair side dental assisting, radiology, or sterilization. They may be occasionally needed for patients' scheduling but may not work routinely as a Medical Clerk or Receptionist. Minimum Qualifications • Dental assistants shall be a graduate from a formal dental assistant training program and have a minimum of six (6) months of clinical dental assisting experience within the last three years. The training or education program must include coursework on radiation physics, biology, health, safety/protection, X-ray films/digital radiography, image quality, and radiographic techniques that meets or exceeds 42 C.F.R. Part 75 (Credentialing of Radiologic Personnel) requirements. If a candidate's radiographic training is found to be unacceptable or cannot be verified, a 42 C.F.R. compliant program must be completed prior to beginning work on the contract. • Possess a BLS card through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross program • A history to show that the HCP has completed a primary series of immunization with tetanus and diphtheria toxoids and that a booster dose is current (within the past 10 years).
