Deputy Sheriff – Summit County is currently recruiting for a full time Deputy Sheriff I. Performs entry-level law enforcement duties intended to secure a safe environment for county citizens and to protect legal rights as established by federal, state, and local laws.
Minimum Qualifications: Deputy I - High School graduation and successful completion of (P.O.S.T.) Peace Officers Standards and Training Academy and LEO certifiable with six (6) months of hire date and certifiable as a Peace Officer within the State of Utah or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary Range: $19.28 – $27.00/hr.
May be filled by Deputy II. Salary Range: $21.65 - $30.33/hr. Three years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience.
May be filled by Deputy III. Salary Range: $24.33 - $34.08/hr. Six (6) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience.
Special Qualifications: Must be a United States Citizen, at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Utah State Driver’s License and must be P.O.S.T. certified within 6 months of hire date.
