U.S. Bank’s Retail Payment Solutions (RPS) division is dedicated to providing products for our customers and partners that are easy, rewarding and magical to get and use. Within RPS, this role reports to the head of Consumer Credit Card Product Development.
We are looking for a top-performing product builder with a disruptive mindset to help us build the innovative new products and capabilities of tomorrow. This person needs a strong track record in product development and emerging technologies, and also experience within the Bank and/or Fintech/digital ecosystem.
This is a key senior product role within the RPS business and will provide strategic direction and execution to our new product development and emerging products initiatives. This highly visible and strategic role will directly lead a portfolio of initiatives and pipeline of new solutions in various stages of development. With members of the product development team focused on various stages of the product pipeline, the specific focus area for this position will be on Product Design – taking a product from an initial concept to a branded set of features and benefits.
Partner with Product Managers and Product Owners to prioritize potential new concepts and bring innovative, news-worthy new products to market with unparalleled speed and precision
Evaluate benefit and feature tradeoffs and define the optimal set of requirements to create a minimally viable product part of an iterative and agile product development approach
Work with internal partners and external agencies to develop optimal customer facing branding of new products and capabilities inclusive of product name, card design (if applicable), positioning and creative voice/platform
Demonstrate the ability to develop credit card value propositions with the right balance of customer-focus and profitability
Leverage consumer insights, global industry trends, competitive intelligence and internal customer and portfolio transactional insights, to help develop the optimal product shelf of credit cards for US Bank
Serve as a ‘thought leader’ around consumer insights and competitive trends associated with credit cards as well as marketing positioning and packaging
Have a keen understanding of underlying business drivers
Ensure products have the appropriate focus to support volume objectives and return hurdles while driving increased profitability
A strong customer focus with demonstrated creative thinking combined with strong analytical skills and P&L experience is necessary for success. The ability to work independently in a matrixed organization is required, along with highly polished written and oral presentation skills. Experience with the financial services industry, launching minimum viable products and using agile/scrum methodologies is required. 10+ years product development, product management, customer experience and innovation work; Digital experience skills and MBA a +.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- 10 or more years of product management experience
- Four or more years of managerial experience
