The Diet Office Clerk functions as clerical support in the nutritional care of patients. The primary responsibilities are processing diet orders and patient menus, checking trayline, delivering tube feedings and snacks, food production tallies, record keeping and communicating effectively to ensure high quality food service to patients. The Diet Office Clerk may assist in modifying the diet based on the current diet manual.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control protocols.
- Customer service/guest relations skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of regular and therapeutic diets.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English and do simple math.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- One (1) year of healthcare experience working with modified diets.
- Attended basic nutrition classes.
