The registered dietitian (RD) is responsible for the nutritional intervention for a variety of patients. The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on patient‘s diagnosis and nutritional status. Educates patients, family and significant others on nutritional guidelines to follow at home, as needed. Contributes to departmental achievements through process improvement. Documents nutritional interventions including plan of care in patients' charts following established procedures. Educator and resource person for area of nutrition specialization.
Degrees: Bachelors Licenses Certifications: Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) CDR Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Additional Qualifications: Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration and Florida State licensure (LD/N). Board Certified in area of nutrition related specialty OR Masters' Degree or higher. This position requires direct patient care through assessment, intervention and care planning. Years of experience must be obtained in a hospital clinical setting. The following proven skills are expected, include excellent verbal/written communication, critical thinking, basic computer, and service excellence. Minimum Required Experience: 2 Years
