The Registered Dietitian (RD) II is a journey level position that reflects an advanced level of practice reinforced with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), Commission for Dietetic Registration, American Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition (ASPEN) or other conferred specialty certification or demonstrated expertise within an assigned population. The RD II is responsible for collaborating with members of the health care team to provide patients medical nutrition therapy (MNT) using current, scientific literature and best practices. Utilizing the Nutrition Care Process, the RD II performs nutrition assessment and re-assessment, diagnoses nutrition-related problems, determines and implements appropriate interventions, monitors and evaluates the outcome of interventions. The RD II provides nutritional counseling and education to patients, caregivers, and family members as needed. In addition, the RD II assists with performance improvement activities, community education, teaching the bariatric class, interdisciplinary patient rounds, partnership councils, the Nutrition Support Team, administrative and other related duties as assigned. He/she participates in or leads performance improvement activities and/or assignments. The RD II acts as a mentor to level I RDs and the Diet Office/Hostess Staff Minimum Requirements:
? 3-5 years in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
? Experience as a clinical dietitian to support Specialty Certification
Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree in Nutrition or allied health profession preferred.
Completion of an AND approved dietetic internship or advanced degree with AND qualifying experience. Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credential.

Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC), Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Sweet Success, Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO), Certificate of Training in Obesity Interventions for Adults from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR), Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition (CSG), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), ServSafe, Certificate and California Children Services (CCS)
