The Director of Food Chain Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Engagement will serve as an outreach and engagement lead on CSR priority areas for the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy with a number of major multi-national stakeholders. These stakeholders include retailers, foodservice, and CPG companies whose interests complement the dairy industry’s work in the areas of social responsibility and sustainability.
The role will support current stakeholder outreach efforts, including support of the U.S. Dairy Stewardship Commitment. The role is focused on fostering relationships, creating engagement opportunities, tracking progress, and sharing industry insights with major dairy stakeholders to highlight progress and proactive work in key dairy social responsibility areas (i.e. animal care, environmental stewardship, food safety, sustainable nutrition, and worker care). The director will also work collaboratively with multiple teams in the dairy industry to identify synergies and partnership opportunities with key stakeholders align the dairy supply chain together on key CSR priority areas. The role engages with multiple levels within a stakeholder brand; focused on developing relationships with sustainability and c-suite leaders. Previous experience working with retailers, foodservice, and CPG companies is strongly preferred.
The Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy is a dairy industry leadership organization, founded by dairy farmers through the national dairy checkoff program and managed by Dairy Management, Inc.
Engagement: Implement comprehensive stakeholder outreach strategy.
Communications: Coordinate sharing of farmer and dairy community successes with stakeholders, and stakeholder interests/needs with dairy farmers, cooperatives and the broader dairy community.
Coordination: Contribute to the compiling and dissemination of stakeholder insights information to the dairy community, as appropriate, in order to empower others to engage with key dairy stakeholders and amplify positive messages.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree; 7+ years’ experience in a stakeholder outreach, public affairs, business development, partnership development or corporate social responsibility position in food and/or agriculture. Previous work experience in food and agriculture, especially dairy, is strongly preferred.

- Outstanding oral and written communication skills

- Full proficiency in Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM platforms (salesforce is preferred).
- Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous projects and shifting priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Travel may be up to 75%. The Director will be encouraged to explore options that may result in reduced travel and/or develop a sustainable plan, as appropriate, with stakeholder partners (e.g., leveraging technology platforms, etc.)
