Part of AMETEKs Measurement, Communication & Testing Division, the Sensors, Test and Calibration Business Unit is one of the worlds leading manufacturers and developers of calibration instruments for temperature, pressure and process signals, and temperature sensors. Crystal Engineering is our Center of Excellence for pressure measurements and calibration.
The successful candidate will provide direction to Engineering Group activities including: detailed detailed design, project management of finished good products, assemblies and piece parts, firmware and software that meet the cost, performance and timeliness requirements defined by AMETEKs STC Business Unit (BU). Plan, implement and oversee engineering strategies to support product roadmap, efficient product architecture (hardware and software) ensuring daily and medium-term technical operations run effectively. Supervise both sites metrology program to support new product manufacturing, customer repairs and customer recalibration to maintain product throughput and industry reputation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, and improve production build efficiencies
Design, build, test and evaluate finished products and subsystems to meet the performance, cost and scheduling requirements as defined by STCs Leadership team and the companys goals.
Knowledge of modern tools and techniques to create a robust product architecture for hardware, firmware and software which is maintainable and scalable.
Knowledge of the using sensors in subsystems, including creating test and measurement devices. Conceive and refine algorithms, firmware, and instrumentation to support our test and calibration laboratories
Resolve technical issues involved with resolving customer issues, prototype or production tooling, first article evaluation, supplier evaluation, production part inspection criteria, transfer of design to production, sustaining engineering, and product discontinuance.
Prepare Requirement Documents, Test Plans, Test Reports and other documentation as required by AMETEK STCs quality system and ISO-9001 requirements.
Resolve product nonconformance issues; implement product and process improvement/cost reduction initiatives via AMETEK STCs CAPA and Engineering Change processes.
Member of Quality Council. Act as CSA, ATEX and IECEx Scheme Representative for site as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support AMETEK STCs Mission Statement and Company Goals.
B.S. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent electrical based technical degree preferred. MBA preferred.
Minimum ten years practical engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Capable of managing other engineering or technical disciplines such as Computer Science or Software development, Mechanical, and/or Industrial are preferred.
Working knowledge of PCB layout practices and software (Altium preferred). Working knowledge of Solid Modeling software such as SolidWorks is beneficial.
Working knowledge of document control practices and procedures.
Advanced math skills (e.g., algebra and calculus) and working knowledge electrical circuits and theory.
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal; e.g., the ability to prepare, present and discuss project related plans, requirements, test results, etc. in a team-based work environment.
Comprehensive, working knowledge of the Microsoft Office PC LAN environment including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail, Schedule, etc.
