The Director of IT provides leadership and management for all information technology services and operations. Responsible for the implementation of policy and procedures as they apply to technology. Formulates appropriate recommendations for improvements and/or additions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the information technology services and operations to support the mission of the organization. Responsible for keeping abreast of information technology developments and their appropriate applications within the organization. Plans and implements information technology infrastructure upgrades.
Provide technology leadership that supports the organization’s strategic plan, including:
Make recommendations regarding the selection, design, implemention, integration and support all information systems;
Direct enhancements to and support of all data, voice, and network infrastructures and services;
Develop and maintain organization-wide technology plan, standards, policies and service agreements;
Direct the establishment, implementation, enforcement and maintenance of technology policies/procedures and information security controls;
Oversee competitive technology procurements, vendor negotiations, and vendor partnerships; and
Work with sites and departments to identify specific technology needs as it relates to the overall technology plan and establish site/department-specific strategies for meeting those needs.
Direct, oversee and assume responsibility for the performance of the Information Technology Department, including:
Manage and the annual technology budget, make recommendations regarding spending priorities, and monitor related expenditures;
Review IT staff skill and develop plans for training and professional development;
Assist with the selection and assignment of technology staff;
Perform all supervisory responsibilities, including evaluating staff performance;
Coordinate with IT supervisors to set department objectives that support and align with the organization’s goals and strategic plan and establish operating procedures to meet those objectives;
Direct the cost-effective use of outsourced services in support of technology initiatives; and
Establish effective procedures for monitoring and evaluating the technology plan implementation and the IT Department’s operations.
Perform other functions, as assigned, including:
Communicate frequently and thoroughly to the CEO and management staff about current technology projects and issues;
Network and collaborate with colleagues from other healthcare practices to achieve mutual benefits;
Remain abreast of, and apply, federal and state laws and regulations that affect the management or use of technology; and
Advance knowledge and skills in emerging technologies and make recommendations as to their use to address organization mission and goals.

|Requirements||Master’s degree with an emphasis on business administration, computer science, information technology or related field.|
Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in a multi-physician medical/surgical practice required.
