Under the director of the VP of Strategy Execution, the Director Strategy Development & Deployment leads the enterprise Strategic Planning Process for AltaMed Health Services, including the cascading and integrating the enterprise strategy with operational and functional strategies across AltaMed’s system of care. The Director’s responsibilities includes leading the enterprise strategic planning cycle that defines organizational strategies, goals, initiatives and action plans, cascading goals across the organization, and facilitating the development of key operational and functional unit strategies. The Director facilitates the engagement of executives, operational leaders, and subject matter experts throughout the organization in the creation of the enterprise strategy and defining goals and targets used to evaluate AltaMed’s strategic performance. To complete this work, the Director partners with the senior leaders from Finance, Operations, Physician Leadership, Information Services, HR, and other functional areas to assess and identify external and internal factors, forces and environments, facilitate development of scenarios and long-term forecasts, and support the development of short-term budgets and initiative/project plans. The Director formally leads and guides a strategy team that provides subject matter expertise across the organization in the development, cascading, and integration of organizational, business unit and functional strategies. Responsibilities also includes partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to deploy a data and measurement model to evaluate AltaMed’s effectiveness in executing the strategic plan and achieving strategic goals, and partnering with the Strategic Project Management team to monitor and evaluate the impact strategic initiatives have on supporting AltaMed’s strategic achievement and performance. Lastly, the Director serves as a leader within the Strategy Execution Department, partnering with the Strategic Project Management, Strategic Analytics, Strategic Change and Design and Patient Experience teams to support successful deployment and execution of the enterprise strategic plan.
ResponsibilitiesLeads Enterprise Strategic Development & Deployment team.Leads deployment of the full strategic planning cycle, including definition of enterprise strategies, goals, targets and initiatives and developing the enterprise strategic planLeads deployment of strategy execution model, including integrating goals, initiatives and action plans into AltaMed’s performance management processes and senior leadership monitoring and oversight for enterprise strategic performance.Partner with Operations and functional unit leadership to integrate use of strategic performance dashboards into their discrete performance management and oversight processes.Partners with leaders across the organization to develop and maintain a measure and performance management reporting system that allows for consistent and effective data management, reporting and performance analysis for all lines of business and functional units.Collaborates with key inter/intradepartmental teams to integrate the Balanced Scorecard model with other strategic efforts and initiatives.Leads development and deployment of the training, communication, and data integration processes that support deployment of AltaMed’s strategy execution and management model throughout the enterprise.Participates on interdepartmental committees and task forces as appropriate to support AltaMed’s strategy execution.Supports and fosters a culture of strategy execution and performance management to enable AltaMed to be a strategy focused organization.Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsMaster’s Degree in business, health care administration, organizational management or similar field required. 2 Years of relevant experience in leading strategic, change management, process improvement or similar cross-functional responsibilities may be substituted for each year of educationMinimum of five (5) years of experience required in management or coordination of teams focused on executing enterprise level, cross-functional strategic initiatives or improvement projects required.Minimum of five (5) years of experience engaging with and providing direct support to Executive level senior leaders in the implementation of cross functional projects or similar responsibilities.Six Sigma, Balanced Scorecard, Project Management, Change Management or similar certification required.
