Aerojet Rocketdyneis looking for a Director, Tax at our corporate headquarters in El Segundo, CA.The Director, Tax has the primary function of overseeing all aspects of the Company’s tax accounting and tax compliance process including managing staff in the department. The candidate will work cross-functionally with various departments and will implement improvements to processes, policies, procedures and controls.
This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
40% - Oversee all aspects of the Tax Department function including managing Corporate Tax Staff in the income tax provision and income tax compliance processes and assisting with their technical development.
30% - ASC 740: Oversee the preparation and review of the Company’s quarterly and annual income tax provisions in Corptax including the preparation of all relevant SEC financial statement disclosures.
10% - Tax Planning Strategies and Special Projects: Implement planning to help the Company in budgeting, planning and managing its effective tax rate. Identify, analyze, and create models to discuss tax planning strategies for the Company and its related entities.
10% - Tax Research: Research and document various tax issues for federal, state and local income tax compliance. Prepare internal memorandums for management regarding tax research findings.
5% - Federal and State Audits: Manage audits and respond to tax notices from federal, state and local taxing jurisdictions.
Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Accounting (or a related major) and ten (10 ) years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA (active or inactive). Tax experience with a Big 4 Accounting firm and/or SEC registrant preferred. Masters in Taxation is a plus.
Proficiency in Corp Tax compliance and provision software is preferred.
Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
U.S. Citizenship, Permanent Resident, or other status as a U.S. Person is required.
