The primary function of aDisassembly Operatoris to disassemble and clean core engines and engine parts for use in the remanufacturing process.
THIS POSITION IS SCHEDULED SUNDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY,NECESSARY OVERTIME WORKED ON THURSDAY. TYPICAL HOURS ARE 7:30PM-6AM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine and non-routine production duties by following written processes to disassemble core engines, engine components, or to perform assembly on sub component parts.
Operates washers, dip tanks, wheelabrators, and other disassembly/cleaning equipment.
Responsible for the visual and quantifiable inspection of the final result of their process.
From experience, resolves disassembly and component production problems.Reports other problems to the teamleader or Production Supervisor for assistance.
Identifies and sorts disassembled parts to be sent to the correct parts cleaning processes/locations.
Maintains good housekeeping in the department.
Maintains a safe working environment by following company safety policies.
Works within production processes to ensure compliance with TS-16949 standards.
- Participates in and supports the principles of Open Book Management
Work is performed with exposure to harsh conditions such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures for extended periods of time.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Sitting 5%, standing/walking 95%. Frequently lift and or move 35 pounds to 50 pounds.
SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.
Ability to perform basic math; add and subtract numbers.
Must have the ability to learn basic engine knowledge.
Must be able to learn Precision Measuring Instruments.
Ability to use hand, air, and power tools. Must be able to demonstrate ability to retrieve and comprehend written processes, and B.O.M’s.
Experience in a manufacturing paced assembly line setting preferred.
Requires effective relationship management skills with co-workers in a team environment.
