|Title: Dish Washer/Prep|
Status: Part Time / Non-Exempt
To provide a clean and safe kitchen area for our staff. To wash and clean all plate ware, pots, pans and cooking equipment and keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Dish Room Execution
o Perform station opening/closing duties each shift
o Sets up Dish station according to BJ’s guidelines and standards
o Able to wash and fill sinks, inspect and test sanitizer for proper temperature or chemical mix and ability to set up dish machine properly
o Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the kitchen manager immediately.
o Assumes 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware
o Able to load, run and unload dish machine in a timely and efficient manner
o Ability to monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
o Ensures all kitchen utensils and containers are washed and put back in proper storage area
o Keeps dish room clean and organized with plate ware decoy system always in place
o Complete opening and closing checklists.
o Maintain adequate levels of clean plate ware for dining room and kitchen
o Bag and haul kitchen trash to dumpster and recycling bin
o Handle plate ware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
o Clean food preparation and production areas as required,
o Completes and fills out BJ’s Gold Standard Dish Prep Log book daily and accurately
o Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
o Maintain personal health and sanitation standards
o Knows to keep track of and report all food that is wasted
o Must handle and rotate all food products properly
o Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance and safety.
o Maintain clean uniform and understands that he/she is always on stage
o Attendance in mandatory meetings , training and workshops
o Ensure 100% compliance with all Company policies and laws, including health and safety standards
o Ensure compliance with BJ’s Code of Ethics, Integrity and Conduct, BJ’s Seven C’s, and BJ’s Principles of Professional Service
Necessary Skills and Requirements:
o Must be 18years of age
o A minimum of 2 years full service, high volume, casual dining restaurant experience
o Ability to work in a fast paced environment
o Good communication skills
o Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
o Able to memorize menu recipes to ensure speed and accuracy for guests
o Experience working in a team orientated environment
o Must have some knowledge of knife skills
o Essential hand/eye coordination
o Knowledge of principles for dealing directly with the public
o Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
o Mature judgment in handling all matters
o Excellent organization and problem solving skills
o Standing and walking during entire 8 hour shift
o Lifts and carries supplies, cases up to 50 lbs
o Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, stirs, pours and carries
o Understanding of restaurant KDS system
o Ability to speak, read and write English ( not necessary)
o Food handler permit required
Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
