|To support assigned teachers in the implementation of research-based strategies and curricula by demonstrating and supporting exemplary instructional practices.|
| POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: |
o Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
o Minimum two years classroom teacher experience
o Teacher certification.
| DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: |
o Attend curriculum meeting held at central office (in Houston).
o Participate in and provide feedback during curriculum development activities
o Work with teachers individually, in collaborative teams, and/or departments, providing practical support on a full range of instructional strategies.
o Assist in providing professional development opportunities for teachers and support staff in the areas of math, ELAR, science, social studies, vocabulary instruction, assessment, differentiation, RTI, etc. Provide follow-up to ensure skill are implemented in the classroom.
o Provide ongoing support to teachers in the implementation of best practices that support key concepts of teaching discipline. Support teachers by providing campus visits, classroom observations, and reflective practice conferences.
o Review and provide feedback on weekly lesson plan submissions.
o Assist teacher in reviewing student assessment data; determining appropriate interventions, modifications and scaffold instruction for students; and guiding teacher as needed in organizing for instruction.
o Coordinate activities on assigned campuses and with system-wide instructional personnel.
o Help select appropriate curriculum materials for the classroom and ensure that teachers have necessary materials for quality instruction.
o Other duties as assigned.
| SKILLS AND ABILITIES: |
o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to organize special programs for assigned campuses.
o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
o Ability to analyze data o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.
o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
o Excessive travel is required
Role/ Salary Band 4
Salary minimum: $61, 000 Salary maximum: $91,000
