The Eaton global service team is one ofthe largest and most experienced teams of power system professionals in theindustry. As one of our Eaton Field ServiceEngineers, you’ll help to provide solutions to our customers’ powerproblems. Active participation in recognized technical societies such as NFPAand IEEE and collaboration with a variety of utilities and industries ensuresthat our engineers and technicians are knowledgeable about today’s cutting-edgetechnology and engineering techniques. We assist customers at every stage ofthe power system: offering startup and commissioning of equipment, performingplanned maintenance, monitoring performance, diagnosing system problemsremotely, as well as responding to emergencies on a 24/7 basis, 365 days ayear. Our support services help businesses make the most of their existingelectrical equipment by optimizing performance and extending the life ofexisting facilities.
Your engineeringassignments will provide you with the opportunity to perform field serviceengineering and technical assistance to a variety of customers in areas ofinstallation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modificationof electrical power distribution equipment; self-manage assigned electricalpower distribution systems related projects; apply knowledge of electrical testand diagnostic equipment; deliver technical solutions to customers; performcomplex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design,testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations. Ourengineers operate with the mission of providing high quality service, supportand solutions with a key emphasis placed on on-time, quality service andsustained relationships with our sales force, channel partners, and end-usercustomers. Travel to customer sites is required.
This role is designedto prepare you for both technical and future leadership roles at Eaton. As anew engineer, you will be provided with a structured training and developmentcurriculum; a blend of instructor-led, virtual classrooms, eLearning courses,and on-the-job training provided by expert mentors and team members to assistyou in developing your career.
Basic Qualifications(Including Educational Requirements):
Currently possesses orwill have obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a major in Electrical,Electrical and Computer, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology or SystemsEngineering from an accredited institution, with a graduation date no laterthan August 2020
Minimum overallcumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please do not round)
Must be legallyauthorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship, now or inthe future
Possesses and maintainsa valid and unrestricted driver’s license
Geographicalflexibility to relocate within the United States
Overall cumulative GPAof 3.0 or higher
Prior relevantinternship or co-op experience within the electrical/power industry
Experience in testing,trouble shooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and controlsystems is highly desirable
Excellent written, oralcommunication and presentation skills
Excellent computer& analytical skills
Demonstrated leadershipexperience within campus and/or community
Field Service Engineersmust have the availability to work evening and weekend hours. Frequent U.S.travel will be required by automobile within the district territory andpossibly by air travel to support other domestic districts. Occasionalinternational travel is possible to support global customers. Field ServiceEngineers must be available to be on-call and respond to customer emergencies.Expect up to 25 - 75% travel, within the district territory, based on customerrequirements.
