The Motor Engineer II position will design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot motors for mid to high-level complexity projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
+ Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot motors for mid to high-level complexity projects.
+ Communicate status updates to other teams and mid-level management.
+ Apply a platform use approach to all new designs, gathering and implementing design considerations for use in multiple product categories.
+ Conduct experiments, perform simulations, and draw concise, logical conclusions by analyzing data.
+ Root cause analysis on failures.
+ Technical preparation of products for mass production.
+ Provide technical guidance to entry level engineers.
+ Work with and establish trusting relationships with the Global Engineering and Operations team.
+ Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
+ Participate in cross-functional design reviews as an independent reviewer.
+ Work with component suppliers and manufacturers for proper component selection on existing projects.
+ Identify tradeoffs and solutions to problems and strive to resolve quickly in a high urgency environment.
+ Design and qualify new designs to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CEC, CE and ANSI.
Education and Experience Requirements
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
+ 2+ years of experience in related design field.
+ Familiarity with FEA and/or CAD
+ Ability to travel 10% of the time (5% domestic and 5% international).
+ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
+ Proficient in FEA and/or CAD.
