Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is located on Florida’s Emerald Coast between Pensacola and Panama City, eight miles east of Destin. The 2,400-acre Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the premier destination in Northwest Florida.
Summary (of role)
Engineering Tech I is the advanced working level. A Tech I performs moderate to complex technical engineering tasks, such as materials texting, advanced inspections and may provide direction to Tech II and Tech III as a lead/supervisor or serve as a manager of field projects as directed by Lead Technician or Engineering Manager. This level performs the most difficult and complex technical assignments on a continuing basis, with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
All of the responsibilities of Tech II and III plus:
- Electrical and plumbing- proper certification required in some repairs
- Diagnosis of AC and heating systems
- Repair of stairs, gates, fences, patios, and railings
- Repair and installation of tile and floorings
- Repair of interior and exterior lighting, ceiling fans, switches, electrical circuits and appliances
- Repair and installation of shutters, doors, cabinets, windows and sliding doors and screens
- Repair and installation of various locks
- Repair and install dry wall and texture
- Interior and exterior painting of walls, ceilings, railings, wood, metal and concrete
- Repair and install pumps
- Have advanced level of carpentry
- Have advance level of roofing
- Any and all duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent. Associate Degree or at least 4 years’ experience in the Maintenance field and 2 years’ experience in Resort/Hotel Maintenance
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements
Have necessary language skills to comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to efficiently present in one on one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other employees for the organization.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS 400, JD Edwards Human Resource systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is open and operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.
