Shift Requirements2nd Shift About The Opportunity Position Summary This position is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming customer files, proofs and layouts in the prepress department and providing EPP support to the Prepress Department by preparing graphic files for production. Key Duties And Responsibilities Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures Work with the Macintosh platforms utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design and Acrobat PDF files Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements Preflight incoming customer files to ensure that all components are correct and ready for processing Interact with customer service, external customers and other business leaders regarding the status of jobs and in problem-solving scenarios Apply knowledge of imposition, color separation, and trapping for press Follow SOP to quality check customer proofs before they are sent out to customer Quality check press form layouts before they are sent to plating Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product Maintain a record of quality issues and keep manager informed of issues Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance Submit jobs to press and platemaking queue through predetermined workflows Fill in as Platemaker and/or EPP Operator to cover absences as needed Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned work area Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives Education / Certifications Education Required High School Diploma or Equivalent Education Desired High School Diploma or Equivalent Other Certifications Required Or Desired Formal post secondary graphic communications training in the various types of computer software used in Electronic Prepress Skills & Experience Work Experience Required Minimum of two years experience in the Graphics trade Offset and/or Flexographic printing experience Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired Software knowledge of Esko Products – Automation Engine, Pilot, Nexus Edit, Powerlayout, and DeskPack Plugins within Illustrator is considered an asset Experience with the Macintosh platform utilizing Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign files Ability to interact with external customers to solve graphics problems and troubleshoot art files Demonstrated skills in application of separating and stepping electronic art Ability to function in highly technical, team environment under high stress, tight deadlines and interruptions Ability to learn new equipment and procedures quickly and easily pass on this knowledge to others Additional Requirements Physical Requirements Ability work at computer station for extended period of time About Menasha Packaging Menasha Packaging Company is a leading designer and manufacturer of graphic consumer corrugated packaging, merchandising solutions, food packaging, shipping containers, material handling solutions, and pack-out and fulfillment services.
