The Department of Emergency Medicine at Rush seeks new physicians to join their growing team. Ideal candidates will receive an academic appointment and the opportunity for professional growth and non-clinical time. Shifts are 9 hours in length with the replacement physician coming at hour 8 to allow 1 hour of overlap. There are currently 72 hours of physician coverage per day, 33 hours of scribe coverage and 16 hours of NP/PA coverage which allows average physician patient per hour of 2.05. This position provides a competitive market base salary with potential bonus incentive of up to 30% of base salary. Faculty members receive full benefits, CME reimbursement, malpractice insurance and a robust retirement package.
Candidates must be an Emergency Medicine residency-trained, board certified/eligible physician.
EMERGENCY MEDICINE AT RUSH
The Rush ED sees 72,000 patients a year in its new state-of-the-art facility. The team trains rotating residents from multiple specialties, medical students and PAs and recently launched a new residency program. The ED is supported by social workers, a chaplain and a child life specialist in addition to consultants representing all specialties in medicine and surgery who take 24 hour call for the ED.
