*Must have an Active Confidential Security Clearance*Seeking an Engineer 3 with recent engineering experience in one or more of the following specialties for marine applications: Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Naval, and/or HVAC.Candidate must also have the following:• Experience with developing Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) drawings and/or engineering calculations with the use of Intelligent Ships Installation Drawing (ISID),• Experience with developing Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) drawings and/or engineering calculations with the use of Planning Yard Standard.Ideal candidate should have experience with ship checking military vessels (LHD/LHA/LCS/LPD/CVN/Etc.) in the Hull, Mechanical, and/or Electrical disciplines. The Engineer will be responsible for Engineering operating specialized diagnostic instruments, CAD service developing, hardware or software spec design reviewing shipboard system requirements and system drawings, systems integration planning, and execution, performing ship checks on a variety of ship classes, investigations, designing performance and operating specs, analyzing test data as well as preparing technical reports.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Performs engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical.
5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in Engineering; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in Engineering
• 3D modeling experience (Inventor, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Ship Constructor, ETC.).• Experience with developing drawings with AutoCAD• Knowledgeable with two or more of the following: FEMAP, Autodesk Nastran, Abaqus, Pro Engineering, AUTOCAD Inventor, and MathCAD.• Ability to interact and present technical information verbally and in writing (briefings, presentations, training, etc.) to internal and external customers.• Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge on engineering practices and techniques to complex situations and non-routine tasks.
Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
