Perform FPGA engineering under supervision and mentorship of senior personnel on the design and implementation of FPGA code for a variety of space-borne applications: including both government and commercial programs. Recent projects have included satellite servicing missions and NASA missions destined for Jupiter’s moon Europa. The position would typically require working with engineering staff both in NH and at the SwRI main campus in San Antonio. Occasional travel to San Antonio may be required.
Requires a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 0-1 year(s) of FPGA design experience. Must have a 3.0 GPA. Familiarity through academics or experience with FPGA device families such as: Microsemi RT/AX, ProASIC3, and RTG4 - Xilinx Virtex 5.FPGA development tools, Microsemi Libero, Xilinx Vivado/IDE. FPGA simulation tool, Modelsim PC board tools, and/or Altium is required. Knowledge of Microprocessors - SPARC (LEON3FT), PowerQUICC III (Freescale and E2V), Interface Standards, Spacewire, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, SPI, I2C, and/or UART is preferred. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Work assignment is in Durham, New Hampshire. Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR work in section.
