This position will report to the Engineering Manager and is located in North Kansas City, MO. The Process Engineer position requires an independent, technically savvy individual with a hands-on personality able to effectively work and communicate with internal customers such as production operators, plant management, and Engineering & Quality teammates, as well as external customers such as outside vendors/suppliers, customers and auditors.

Creating programs and troubleshooting industrial controls for machining, welding and/or thermal spray processes (robot experience preferred).
Development of process parameters, tooling and controls for machining, thermal spray coating, weld, heat treat, and other finishing processes.
Production Fixture and Gauge design using 3D modeling software (ProE or Solidworks experience preferred).
Production Job Planning review and preparation.
Technical Manual/Document review for processes and equipment
Trouble shooting equipment and processes
Review of blueprints and equipment manuals to develop processes and design fixtures
Interaction with Customers (technical and production support), suppliers and regulatory authorities
Support product and process audits from a technical standpoint
Provide direct, hands on support to the product line personnel to answer questions, troubleshoot processes and disposition defects.Competencies

Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Required Education and Experience
Associates Degree or Bachelors of Science Degree in a technical field, with preference towards mechanical or industrial disciplines preferred.
Candidates that have hands-on or design/development experience in mechanical disciplines including CNC/Robot Programming, Machining and/or Welding will be preferred.
3D Modeling Software (CREO/Pro-E or Solidworks Preferred)
MasterCAM experience preferred.
MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
3-5 years of relevant experience.
Experience with welding and shot peen preferred.
Experience in use and programming of CNC machines (mill, lathe, shot peen) preferred, but not required.
Mature project management skills and experience required.
Excellent skills are required, both verbally and written.
