ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F3012-21-0109-F)
Bowhead is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Infrared Radio Frequency (IR/RF) Division at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Crane, Indiana. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for performing complex engineering assignments in a research and development environment. The Engineering Technician will utilize various production equipment including, but not limited to, injection mold machines, metal lathes and must be experienced with soldering and welding equipment.
Essential duties may include:
• Assemble or install equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering and/or connecting.
• Perform simple tests or tasks such as tensile or hardness testing.
• Adjusting and operating the test equipment and accurate recording of test data for evaluation by leadership.
• Assist in the gathering and maintaining of engineering records, completing computations by inserting data into specified formulas and plotting data into curves and graphs as necessary.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, an Explosives certification.
About this Contract: The IR/RF Systems Technologies Division conducts research and development for pyrotechnic and countermeasure devices in support of the Navy, Air Force, Army and Joint Strike Fighter. The primary mission is to promote the self-protection of aircraft, vessels and vehicles and includes, but is not limited to, Infrared Technology, lasers and electronic warfare research and development.

Requirements
• A High School Diploma or equivalent and two to five (2 to 5) years of experience in a similar work environment is required
• Previous experience supporting NSWC Crane and/or the IR/RF Division is highly sought
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, an Explosives certification
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. To receive and respond to instructions/assignments, must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level however candidates with an active Secret are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
