PURPOSE:Focus is on being a significant contributor to functional area objectives through performance of multiple tasks.
- Demonstrates an intermediate understanding of the economic challenges of integrating technological issues in a competitive marketplace.
Representative job accountabilities and work assignments.
Troubleshoot problems with other technical employees, suppliers and outside experts.
Assignments typically deal with exceptions and random issues.
Coordinate laboratory, field or pre-production testing.
Develop and write portions of project/assignment proposals or research reports.
Develop estimates and work plan for multiple task timelines of more complicated and comprehensive tasks within a limited, defined scope.
Schedule other technicians into plans to accomplish tasks within framework and guidelines.
Monitor progress and assignments and take corrective action to achieve timelines.
Work with engineers to develop and evaluate materials, parts, product or process while offering insights on their improvement.
Conduct testing related to introducing product improvements into the manufacturing process.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of respective functional area.
Direct involvement with internal and external customers.
Coordinate quote requests for equipment, materials, samples as well as completion schedules.
Present technical information or proposals to senior staff.
Regularly provides work direction to other technical employees in completion of project/assignment estimates and documentation of product or machine specifications.
Offer assistance/mentor for less experienced technical employees.
- 2-year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge, skills and abilities to a variety of assignments within a basic range of technical difficulty.
- Shows an understanding of engineering and scientific methodologies and their successful application acquired through a four-year degree program of study or equivalent combinations of education or experience may include.
