Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to set direction and carry out laboratory tests, hardware inspection, testing, developmental assembly, and instrumentation. Coordinate with the chief engineering technician to prepare program areas for program use with storage, assembly tools, equipment and security.
Conduct preventative maintenance for the facility and major equipment. Assist in facility audits of maintenance and equipment condition.
Update the interface control document for the Test and Assembly facilities as needed. Plan tool and equipment requirements for assembly and test operations as well as maintain tool inventory.
Knowledge of testing engineering methodology and practices.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Welding experience or certificate is preferred.
Some light physical effort required.
Will be required to perform occasional lifting of light materials.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
Personal Protective Equipment:
When required in designated lab areas.
Work performed in a combination of office and lab environment.
Some Travel may be required.
Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Experience and Skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The engineering technician will have knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or applicable systems. Demonstrated ability to work on design and development of engineering tests in a team environment.
Education and Experience:
At least 2 years progressive experience in engineering test environment.
