Responsible for strategic and system management for the imaging and clinical ancillary systems. Implement portfolio management to provide a dynamic decision-making process for assessing value, prioritizing projects and allocating resources to meet key organizational objectives across the enterprise. Direct technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects. Lead enterprise-wide technology programs by leading cross-disciplinary teams, coordinating resources and timetables. Work closely with leaders and governance committees across the enterprise to determine needs, prioritize initiatives, and communicate status. Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements. Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; prepare an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective action. Ensure audit requirements are met. Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards with the staff. Oversee risk analyses/mitigation and decision documents/escalations that facilitate project success.
Teach medical students and residents by delivering lectures about fundamentals of clinical informatics and health systems, clinical decision support systems and care process improvement. Deliver lectures on topics including clinical workflow analysis and analytics, process redesign, and quality improvement; information technology systems, health information systems and applications; clinical data standards and IS life cycle; and managing change control, project management, and financial planning for clinical information systems. Lead credit-granting Continuing Medical Education courses as required by for American Registry of Radiologic Technology certified technologists to update them on trends in the field of informatics.
Lead and be part of collaborative research projects as appropriate to the discipline. Contribute to the development and implementation of research strategies in the clinical departments. Present research work at national and/or international conferences and/ or at other appropriate events.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field plus 8 years of experience with all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle or Project Life Cycle, and with clinical systems.
Must have 5 years of experience working in a healthcare/hospital environment.
