Environmental Scientist– Laurel, MD
Will manage, support and oversee field team operations, including environmental investigations and remedial construction, geophysical field work, installation of monitoring wells, sampling various media (soil, groundwater, surface water, air, etc.), data analysis and interpretation, and report writing. Will interact with clients, acting as the first point of contract for ERT, facilitate meetings, draft work and safety plans, provide subcontractor management, and develop reports summarizing field activities. Travel may be up to 50% of work time.
3 - 6 years of experience with environmental field investigations and safety oversight on environmental investigation and remediation projects. Experience working with the Department of Defense, specifically USACE, on HTRW and MMRP investigations and remediation project sites, required. Must have 40 hr HAZWOPER training, 8 hr HAZWOPER supervisor training, and be able to pass medical fitness for HAZWOPER work. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be able work in all weather conditions. Must be willing to travel to local and national project sites; approximately 50% of the work will be in the field. Working knowledge of GIS, environmental database and modeling software, as well as safety knowledge associated with USACE requirements is a plus.
BS in environmental science/engineering, geology, related discipline, or equivalent.
