Environmental Scientist/Outreach Coordinator

(RMC) provides high-quality, professional services to government and commercial sectors.Our Environmental &Safety division offers a wide array of services for the design, development, evaluation, and implementation of environmental policies, programs, projects, and pilot initiatives supporting both civil and military agency requirements.
We have an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Scientist to provide planning and coordination of environmental outreach events and initiatives in support of a major government agency. In this position you will be responsible for organizing four small and two large annual environmental outreach events, to include researching vendors, coordinating all event logistics and booth information, developing social media content, and creating educational posters and other print materials. In the planning of these events, you will communicate regularly with the agency’s public affairs office; excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Additional responsibilities of this position include developing a quarterly newsletter and creating web-based training material.
To be qualified for this position, you must have a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science (or related), 2-5 years of experience coordinating environmental outreach events, and the ability to create visual displays and educational material. A high degree of proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point is also required. Knowledge of environmental programs such as recycling, green procurement, and energy awareness is helpful. This position may be based in our Lexington Park, MD office, or remotely in the Arlington, VA area. If working remotely, must be flexible to travel to Lexington Park when needed.
